Mountvale Summer Fete 2015
the 25th of July saw a lovely summers day for the Annual Mountvale Summer Fete, The glorious day meant that stalls could be set outside along with the BBQ. Every year Eileen and Lisa our Activity Therapists put in a tremendous amount of effort into its organisation. We were delighted by the support given to us by the local community attending the event but also the local businesses for their kind donations which are always extremely welcome. We are delighted to announce that our total to date is £900 with more donations coming in. The money raised is always put to good use for the residents with day trips to Newcastle, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum Grand Opera House and many more day trips out and about. Thank you to everyone who supports us and a special thanks to those staff and family members who always come in and help with the stalls

Residents V-E Day Trip
Mountvale Residents reminiscence V-E Day and the Belfast Blitz was spent at the Belfast War Museum last week, During the tour they viewed a video which included Belfast during World War 2 showing the destruction which the air raids left, ruins of houses and business and the street parties that were held throughout Northern Ireland celebrating V -E Day
The residents thoroughly enjoyed the tour, where they discussed and viewed old time toys, food rationing and were shown attire which both the British and American Military wore during the War. At the end of the tour all the residents enjoyed refreshments together and were able to discuss the War and recall their own memories.

Residents and staff enjoying 12th Celebrations
